英文电影观后感2
It's been a long and almost 3 year wait for the coming of Stephen Chow'snew movie CJ7, on the heels of his international success with Shaolin Soccer andKung Fu Hustle, both of which were adapted/parodied/copied in the other twocompetitive movies this holiday season in Kung Fu Dunk and Ah Long Pte Ltd. Ifimitation is the best form of flattery, that goes to show who's the boss and whocalls the shots in the innovation and creativity departments, that there's onlyone force to be reckoned with in drafting comedy that appeals to the world.Youmight think that I'm singing praises of Chow and his works, but yes, that's theskyrocket high expectations that he had built for himself over the years withhis rapid fire mo-lei-tau (nonsensical) comedic movies entertaining the massespre and post 1997 Hong Kong, and now he can afford to take his time in releasinghis movies once they pass through his perfectionist quality control. Sittingthrough CJ7, I had initially thought that it was amongst his weaker works, butthen came the final act, which while it was emotionally manipulative, I cannotdeny that I both laughed and cried at the same time, which is extremely rare, and only pulled off by Chow's knack of structuring his scenes.
Chow has shown his pedigree in becoming a good storyteller. If he is notalready being considered one, then CJ7 is a sign of better things to come, asslowly, it can be seen that he's giving up his presence on screen, and turninghis attention to behind the camera instead. Even with movies like Shaolin Soccerand Kung Fu Hustle, while he was the lead actor, he still made room for hissupporting casts to shine through.
This time though, he had totally taken the backseat and gave the spotlightto the child actress Xu Jiao who plays Dicky, the son (yes you read that right)of Chow's construction worker character Ti. Being poor, Ti works extremely hardto send his son to a premier school to receive a good education, in the hopesthat he will be able to break out of the poverty circle in time to come. But inbeing in an elite school, Dicky becomes automatic fodder for rich schoolbullies, who look down on him because of his social status. Much of the moviedwells on this schoolyard politicking, and with Ti trying hard to impart goodprinciples to his son that it becomes somewhat repetitive.
In trying to pacify his son who yearns for the latest toy in town, ahigh-tech robotic dog called CJ1, Ti goes back to his favourite haunt, thejunkyard, and picks up a green ball outfitted with an antenna, as a replacementtoy. Without his knowing of course, this ball turns out to be an alien lifeform, and Dicky soon uncovers that it has magical abilities. Christened CJ7, much ofthe laughs come from CJ7 and Dicky, in the form of spoofs ranging from Mission:Impossible 2 to Asian fare like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and also takes aspin from Chow's previous 2 movies.
But don't expect the jokes to be of the mo-lei-tau type, as there aren'tthat many jokes to begin with. Gone are the days of laugh-a-minute type comedyfrom Stephen Chow. While toilet humour is still quite staple, Chow seemed tohave embraced special effects even more this time, starting with a totallyanimated CJ7, which has "cute" plastered all over it, making it a delightamongst the young and the female audience. I tell you, if it's not alreadyavailable, someone should make the plush toy right now and milk it for all it'sworth. Most of the jokes and fun sequences were spruced up by special effects, but there were a moment or two which I felt was quite unnecessary.
In most ways, CJ7 isn't really your typical outright comedy. By the end ofit, I thought its dramatic moments were tugging at the heartstrings, as Imentioned earlier, and indeed this somehow represents a shift by Chow to asomewhat different territory, building up his movie with comedy being peripheralor secondary to the main plot. There are moments of fun balanced by momentswhich are touching, episodes of the ridiculous balanced by episodes which madeyou reflect. And any more which features great songs, get my vote of approvaltoo, with Boney M's Sonny getting plenty of airplay, and I Love Chopin coming onat just the very appropriate moment.
However, what is still suspect though, is Chow's ability to weave moreflesh into what are essentially flower vase roles in the female characters whoplay opposite him as love interests. With Shaolin Soccer, Vicky Zhao wasunfortunately quite pedestrian, and with Kung Fu Hustle, the scope given toHuang Shengyi was worse. Kitty Zhang continues the trend as good looking teacherMrs Yuen, who takes pity on Dicky, but nothing more.Having seen all the LunarNew Year movie premieres for this week, I can safely say CJ7 came out tops, because it had a lot more moments in the movie that makes it family friendlyentertainment, and yet imparting and giving out reminders of good values thatwill almost certainly rub off on the young, and the young at heart. Not at hisbest, but Chow delivers yet another crowd pleaser, for sure. Recommended!

Film Review of Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is a famous classic written by Jane Austen. I wasattracted by the characters and plots of the film adapted from the novel.
Elizabeth is the heroine of the story. When she meets Darcy, a handsome, rich but arrogant man, on the party for the first time, she is dissatisfied withthe proud manner of Darcy. Darcy looks down on those who are in a lower socialclass,
including Elizabeth. However, after getting to know the courage, independence and confidence of Elizabeth, he almost falls in love with her. ButElizabeth believes the lies of Wickham which causes her great prejudice toDarcy. She rejects Darcy’s propose marriage to protect her self-respect.Finally, Darcy goes away because he couldn’t tolerate Elizabeth’s sisters’vulgar manners. He writes a long letter to explain his thoughts and love toElizabeth. After reading it, Elizabeth feels guilty about
misjudging Darcy and regrets turning him down. As time goes away, Darcygradually improves his pride and keeps helping Elizabeth’s family out fromtroubles. At last, Elizabeth removes the prejudice to Darcy and accepts hispropose marriage.
From the film I learn that we can’t judge a man immediately by the firstimpression. If we are controlled by our subjective senses, it will easy causeprejudice and
misunderstanding and probably influent the developments of many events. Toavoid this situation, we need more communication to understand others deeply byourselves.

What would it feel if I can wake up everyday forgetting what happened forthe last whole year?
Lucy in the movie “50 First Dates” told me this feeling. Every morning whenshe woke up, she only rememberred the Sunday of last year which was her father’sbirthday, also the date she had the car accident which made her only keep memorybefore Sunday, so she always felt happy living the same habit as what she did onSunday a year ago with the kind set-up by her father and brother. After meetingHey, she could only remember who he was on the same day. But after one night, hebecame a stranger to her. She couldn’t even recognize he was the one she used todate and love everyday. Hey tried his best to give her a new different meetingevery day so as to win her smile and regain their “First Date”. Hey made hertapes every morning to help her remember what happened the day before and thelast whole year. Lucy thus felt grateful with all she had when she woke upeveryday. On the same day, she always had the same deep gratitude to face Heywith her sweet smile. What a beautiful feeling it is to always feel thanksgivingand to always
appreciate each other’s effort. A touching story between a memory lostwoman and a devoted man taught all of us, normal people, the essence of love. When two people can thank each other for their devotion everyday like what theydid for each other on first date, love can forever be refreshed and energetic. On Lucy’s side, people with memory will ask for more than yesterday and becomecritical of their partners day by day, while people without memory will feelgrateful for their life and the people around them everyday.
In the movie, when one day Lucy decided to break up with Hey to let himrebuild his life by burning all their diaries and tapes, I cried for Hey’sbroken heart. For her, it was just one day feeling. For him, it was long-termaffection and connection. It was easier for her than him to give up their love.On Hey’s side, people with memory will always remember the past happinessand
treasure it for the rest of their life, while people without memory willeasily give up at the end of the same day.
What a ruthless feeling it is to end a relationship just after one minutethought. People with fragile mind would easily ruin a long-term relationship nomatter what reason they have. The torture between Lucy and Hey tells us thefatal factor to do harm to intimacy between a couple is their fragile mindof
balancing emotion and reason. Thus most of couple lose their trust for eachother after experiencing this weakly testing broke-up.

What is the right relationship between the father and the daughter? Thereis no certain answer. But the love of Brain's to his daughter must be one of thebest ones.
His daughter, a young pretty 17-year-old girl was kidnapped during a tourin Paris. Brain got the news and hurried to France to take his daughter. Hefound that the gangsters that kidnapped his daughter were connected with an oldfriend which made him exetreme angry. He finally found the place where washolding an auction selling young virgins and broke in successfully taking hisdaughter away.
No matter how hard and stressful the situation was, and how dangerousthings he faced, he never went back just because of the greatest love of asimple father. In the movie, we are all moved not only his actions of kindness, but also his insistance and the greatest of all- a father's love.
